Landscape architecture

Our landscape architecture team combines science with the design process in the creation of places that mediate between the built form, infrastructure and living systems.

We work with clients and communities to realise places that weave lifestyle, public space and natural processes through landscape planning and design.

In our projects, we strive to:

  • Combine science and design to respond to places creatively.
  • Create places for people and invite the unexpected.
  • Learn from and work with local Country, community and culture to enrich project outcomes.

Our process begins by establishing the cultural and ecological foundation of a place
overlaid with economic drivers and technical aspects of the site. At the broad level we respond to regional identity; at the local level
we provide dynamic and unique places for people.

Working collaboratively, our process aims to:

  • Understand biophysical and socio-cultural aspects of a site to foster a strong place-based identity that is safe and welcoming for all users.
    • Integrate ecological function including rewilding, urban habitat integration and water sensitive urban design.
    • Invite iterative and meaningful co-design, collaboration and engagement with design disciplines, community and stakeholders to achieve integrated and positive short and long-term outcomes.
    • Work at multiple scales to ensure that the landscape detail matches the broad project vision.
