urban
Good urban design aims to create useful, attractive, safe, environmentally sustainable, economically successful and socially equitable places. Urban places should encompass local identity and sense of place, cultural responsiveness and purposeful environmental innovation.
youth.
Good design provides successful places that offer a variety of uses and activities while optimising amenity, providing environments that are comfortable, productive and healthy. Considering these design qualities in the context of youth we aim to create vibrant and resilient local places which prove to be regenerative assets within an urban context.
sustainability.
Sustainable design adheres to established water-sensitive urban design principles, minimises negative impacts on existing natural features and ecological processes and facilitates green infrastructure within complex urban environments. We consider the impacts of global trends and reinforce and utilise the local assets of a place, reflecting the needs and aspirations of the public. We explore the use of sustainable construction materials, recycling and re-use of materials and existing structures to optimise sustainable outcomes for a project as well as strengthen a site’s sense of place and recognition of the past use.
