Sheila Valley and Raven Flora and Vegetation Survey
Ecoscape was appointed to conduct a Detailed flora and vegetation survey of a two areas north of Tom Price in the Pilbara region known as Raven and Sheila Valley totalling 25,000 ha and 19,000 ha respectively. The survey was conducted over two phases in 2020. The survey was required to be conducted in accordance with current Environmental Protection Authority requirements in support of environmental approvals.
The field survey identified 25 vegetation types within Sheila Valley and 28 within Raven, and 569 vascular flora species in total. The vegetation type assessment was required to take into consideration vegetation mapping of adjacent areas, and utilise consolidated vegetation types to form part of a comprehensive assessment of a wider area.
