A Greening Plan is a structured and systematic approach to managing, protecting, preserving and enhancing existing vegetation in parks and reserves, private land and road reserves. Ecoscape was engaged by the Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils (WESROC) to prepare a Greening Plan which offered a new strategic direction for conservation planning in the western suburbs of Perth. Ecoscape’s report provided objectives and guiding principles for greening projects, as well as recommendations for new design approaches to streetscapes, parks and gardens which contribute positively to the ecological, aesthetic and cultural value of the area. The Greening Plan emphasised the rehabilitation of degraded areas and the importance of securing open space and enhancing linkages between green areas to maintain environmental values.
