The Department of Planning requested a fauna survey for the proposed Oakajee-Narngulu Infrastructure Corridor. The corridor extends from Narngulu in the south to the North West Coastal Highway, Oakajee in the north. The objectives of this project were to review relevant databases and literature on the potential species that may or are likely to occur within the study area and review any previous fauna assessments conducted in the region, if available. Fauna habitats were then mapped and classified as to their potential for supporting fauna populations and a fauna survey was undertaken to confirm species present.
It was recommended that the proposed Oakajee-Narngulu Infrastructure corridor avoid impacting on the remnant bushland at Wokatherra Gap due to the high habitat values associated with the site.
