The design rationale for the college masterplan focuses around creating a variety of different scaled landscape spaces which cater for young people for a diverse range of ages, with the school housing children from kindergarten to year 12 age. These spaces are designed to facilitate constructive social interactions to occur between different groups of people. In additon, a planting rationale was developed around creating a different suite of plants to serve different landscape purposes; such as ‘the arrival’, ‘solar outdoor rooms’, ‘lowlands’ and ‘buffer’ planting areas.
The master plan was accepted by the Catholic Education Board, with detailed design now be undertaken for stage one of the project.
