Brookleigh Estate is situated amongst the fields and paddocks of the picturesque Swan Valley. Ecoscape was initially engaged to undertake the design, documentation and administration of the landscape for Stage 1 and has since been commissioned for Stages 2 to 8. Ecoscape sought to create a unique identity for the estate by enhancing on the existing character of the site, especially the stream that runs north-south through the site. This serves as a visual link through the subdivision, complemented by the mature Melaleucas which have been retained on the site.
In contrast to other developments in the area which have a ‘European’ character, Ecoscape chose to use a plant palette of entirely native species to provide a point of difference, improve the ecology of subdivision, and reduce maintenance and irrigation requirements. The unique character of the development is further reinforced by the inclusion of custom-designed shade shelters and entry signage.
