Ecoscape worked collaboratively with BHPBIO to develop a revegetation plan for the industrial rail and port facility in Port Hedland. BHP’s vision is to improve the environmental, social and aesthetic quality of the industrial site through native revegetation. As part of the Revegetation Plan, Ecoscape undertook stakeholder consultation to establish a Land Useplan to ensure that the revegetation sites do not conflict with future work areas. Detailed landscape plans and methodologies to improve the success of Revegetation were developed. One of the challenges of the remote location is the lack of native plant stock. BHPBIO intends to establish a local nursery by combining the skills and resources of Ecoscape, TAFE, and the local Aboriginal community.
