The Department of Fire and Emergency Services for Western Australia (DFES) has updated their Bush Fire Prone Areas Map for WA as of 12 noon on Friday 20 May 2016. This is in addition to the initial bush fire prone area map released in late 2015.

The updated maps includes Bush Fire Prone Areas of WA as identified in the first edition of the Map released in December 2015 as well as the newly identified areas that are indicated in a separate colour on the map.
Planners, developers, councils and land management organisations should check the map for any change to their current land holdings. Additional planning and building requirements may apply to developments within the newly designated and current bush fire prone areas, in accordance with planning and building regulations as required by DFES and the State Government.
